Vilho joined our pack in the middle of January 2009 from kennel Ghali in Malmö, Sweden. He´s bred by Helené and Ulf Jönsson. Vilho was born as a number 10 in a litter of 11 puppies, 9+2 and was marked as Mr Red. All puppies have a ridge, but two boys have a small fault in their ridge. No sinus or kink tail was found. The litter was first for the dam Awena, which took very good care of the puppies.

I went to see Helené, Ulf and the puppies for the first time in the middle of December. Then the puppies were 3,5 weeks old. I had been staring all the photos over and over again, but no favorite was found. After a while in the puppy box I had found myself following Mr Red  more and more. He came immediately my number one favorite! We had a very nice day with the puppies, and getting to know each other. I was glad to find, that Helené and Ulf were just as warm and sincere as I thought they would be. Also Awena was everything I was told her to be. When I came back home, I had no clue which one of the lovely puppies would be mine and the thrilling wait begun. By the time the puppies were 5 weeks old I finally got the great news, that Mr Red would be the one!  In the middle of January I travelled to Malmö again to fetch Mr Red home.

I must say, that I´m are remarkably happy, that I got the chance to get a puppy from Helené and Ulf. I´m are sure that I will have a real lifetime support from the breeder, and new friends as well! Vilho is everything I ever hoped for, and even more! 

As a puppy Vilho was happy, curios and daring, just like a puppy should be. He loved to play with his "big brother" Eddie, but he also understood when it was time to give Eddie some peace and privacy. Now, at 2 years of age, Vilho still is a daring, curious,  open minded, very happy and friendly dog, always wagging his tail. He has a stable and balanced character and he´s always been very self confident. Vilho gets with extreme speed into all situations. Sometimes less speed would bring a better result... Outside the house he´s full of energy, but inside he loves to sleep on the coach in front of the fireplace. Because of his unbelievable greediness he´s easy to motivate.

Vilho is very easy to read, he shows all his moods very clearly. And if there is something wrong in the service, he´ll let me know! He uses his voice loud and clear when feeling unfomfortable. He screams if he´s hurt, beeps if the dinner is late or if it´s too cold for his majesty... An important detail in Vilho´s routines is that he almost never sleeps without a blanket!

So far Vilho has been in perfect health. He will be officially x-rayed in the near future. At the age of one year he had clear x-rays of hips, elbows, shoulders and back.

Vilho´s first year was full of playing with the big brother and other friends, shows, blood tracking and lure coursing. He´s been given time to grow up, and none of the activities are trained intensively yet. Among the official activities Vilho has become quite a hunter. He has extremely strong hunting instinct, which leads him to chase almost every day.  He hunts with passion and speed. It´s a bit shame that dogs this size can´t be used in deer hunting... Just like his ”big brother” Eddie, Vilho also loves saunaing. He always takes the top bench,  lies down and falls asleep! Swimming is one of Vilho´s favorite sports. He´s not only swimming; he´s making jumps and dives, loving every second! In the summertime we go to lakes for a swim, but in the wintertime we use the dog spa in Hyvinkää.

Vilho has already started his career in showing, blood tracking and lure coursing. Future will tell, which will be his favorite!
